I started riding and racing MT bikes in 1981. I was riding a 1991 Stumpjumper Comp prior to this purchase. Specialized has really done the world a favor by offering so many models with varying geo. I am 6-1, 205lbs. I rode the 2014 models of the Stumpjumper, Epic and Camber, both in aluminum and carbon. What an incredible experience to feel the different geometries and how they worked with my body. I wanted a Stumpjumper because that's what my past three bikes were. However when I took the Camber Comp Carbon out for a test spin on the trail I was truly amazed at the fit, the control, and the responsiveness of this bike. This was a "match made in heaven" as they say. Take the time to test ride Specialized bikes side-by-side, the same day and you will find one that fits your geo and riding style perfectly. After 200 miles of hard desert trail riding, ledge jumping and water crossings I can assure you the Camber Comp Carbon is an incredible bike. By the way Specialized customer service is un-equaled. Back in 1983 I snapped a Stumpjumper frame in half jumping a 12ft ledge. Specialized sent me a NEW bike in three weeks, no questions asked. Who does that?
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased the Comp Carbon after riding a 2012 base model Camber 29er for two years. I really can't say there was anything wrong with the old Camber I just wanted a better version of the Camber to ride. I have not been disappointed.
The CCC is about 4lbs lighter than my old Camber and I believe Specialized as made some changes since 2012 that has made the bike stiffer and more agile.
The Fox CTD suspension system works very well. In climb mode is stiffens up the suspension like a ridged and it climbs like a squirrel. In the downhill mode you have the feeling of floating over the fast rough spots and small drops. The trial mode, which is what most with the CTD suspension tend to leave it in, is a good middle ground, when riding through various trials conditions.
The 2x10 Shimano/SRAM drive system works very well, giving you plenty of high and low end gearing with no noticeable gaps (makes me question the purpose of the 3x system). The shifting is precise and quick. What more do you want?
I can't complain about the brakes, they do the job, without being noisy. They are definitely better than the Avids that I had on my old Camber (though with mine I got lucky and had a proper functioning set), but I don't believe they have the stopping power of Shimano Deore XT that were on an other bike that I tested.
Overall, If you're looking for good Do-All bike you'll have a hard time finding anything better then the Camber series.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Awesome bike! I was thinking about upgrading my 2011 camber to this one. Do you have any more pics?

I too am an itermediate AR rider. Bought the Carbon Comp 3 weeks ago and have almost 100 miles on it. For the money, it is a real value! Climbs extermeely well and the shocks are more plush with each ride. Only weakness is the Formula brakes. Upgrading to Shimano XT's this week. The Formula's have not stopped well, grind and are very noisy. Overall, awesome bike, I am impressed!

I bought a 2013 Camber Carbon Comp and it is fantastic! I pretty much only ride Copper Harbor Mi and this bike does everything from Flow trails to the Red Trail. It is very well balanced and what I like it descends fast and climbs great! I have about 400 hard miles on my Camber and it has performed perfect!!! Thanks Specialized for a perfect Bike for ME! It has brought this 49 yrs old to a new riding level:)

Stock rear hub and bottom bracket make this a bad deal.

At this price range I expect reliable and competent parts. Not the case here. The Hi-lo 142 + rear hub is terrible, it simply does not work properly. It left me stranded on the trail after only 4 months. I am also having problems with the bottom bracket.
No, I do not recommend this product.
